Once again the team ran various drivers in the Kent County Championship, which this year was sponsered by Oasis. Phil Burrows and Christian Åkerstöm both started the year racing 1600 cars. Later in the season new driver Stuart Simpson had a couple of races also in a 1600. Richard Mendoza was the only driver to contest the whole Championship in his own Zetec. He gained third place at Snetterton, his first race back after 18 months out of the car! He bought an ex-JLR 2000 Mygale mid season and had a some good results in it. Kent County 1600 racer, Mark Byatt, raced the teams own Mygale 2000 for three races at the end of the season and out qualified the existing Kent County Zetec drivers. Alan raced in the Kent Trophy race at the Festival in October.
Two new drivers for the team this year. The young Swede Christian Åkerstöm contested the Championship in his Swift SC95F. He soon started to impress the rest of the field and the media by obtaining podium places. Although never winning he certainly gave Brett Francis and the other front runners a run for their money. Our other driver was Rui Santos a business man and pilot from Portugal. He was new to single seater racing but was soon getting the hang of it and moving up the grid. He contested a few rounds of the Super Classic Championship. His best result was at Lydden Hill where he came second in class. Rob Swindells made two appearances this year, he came second in the Zetec in the opening round at Brands Hatch but was unable to match this result when he tried the GP Ciruit later in the year. Alan managed to squeeze in a race at Brands Hatch in early October and came away with 2 second places.
Gideon Cresswell contested the Kent County Championship in the 95 Swift and had Phil Burrows as his team mate in the 93. Gideon started the season well with a few podium finishes and led the Championship for a while. A few unfortunate crashes saw him miss a few races mid season and he finished joint 6th overall. He then went on to contest the Winter Series and obtained two second places and his first race win at Brands Hatch. He won the Championship so was very happy with his end to the year. It was Phils first full year of racing and he made good progress through the field. He had several top ten placings and improved his racing skills through out the year. He finished 11th overall. Chris Palmer raced a few times in his own Swift SC93F and had a third place in one race. Alan gave the Zetec an outing on the Brands Hatch Grands Prix Circuit and showed the rest of the team how it was done by finishing third.
For the first time, the team had Formula Ford Zetec cars for hire as well as the 1600 cars. Brazilian Karting Champion, Rafael Emery contested the Kent County Championship with Lindfield Racing but suffered because of the weather.
Bernardo came back for more, the team had new drivers Jacqui Woolf and Melvyn Ashdown during the summer. Phil Burrows and Simon Dell contested the Winter Series. Alan raced at Brands Hatch in the Kent County Championship, considered to be one of the most competitive FF1600 Championships. With a podium finish in nearly every race he finished 3rd after being second in the Championship right up until the last round.
The team had two main drivers, Bernardo Barretti came over from Portugal in order to gain his International Licence, this meant he had to complete 16 races before October. Ian Agnew was an Australian driver who again was looking to obtain his International licence. Alan was leading the Heat Electric FF1600 Championship at Castle Combe and finished 5th overall after only competing in 5 rounds due to other commitments.
